Stock wheel backspace
Hello,
Could some kind person with a stock wheel off his/her car put a straightedge across the inside edge of the rim and measure the distance to the mounting surface of the wheel ? Are the stock wheels 16" x 7" or 7.5" ??? Thanks for the help its much appreciated Hotshoe |

The wheels are 7.5" and 55mm offset. I haven't measured them myself but this is what everyone else says they are.

Thanks but....
David,
I too have seen that number but somehow backspace and offset are not the same number. offset is the difference, positive or negative of the mounting face from the midpoint of the rim width: hence 7.5 inches div by two plus (or minus) 55mm... I am trying to get the actual number on an actual wheel representing the bolt mounting face of the wheel and its distance from the inner edge of the wheel. Pretty sure that it ISN'T 55mm Thanks for the help tho' Hotshoe |

Earthworm is right. I measured mine with some instruments that a friend had who was plant engineer for Volvo production. The full detail is on the Yahoo club. If you do a search for posts under my name you should find both the winter rim & summer rim specs. It was about 2 years ago.
Like a dummy I can't put my finger on them now. |

hmmm...in that case does 163mm/6.4" sound right?

the inner-outer rim width is 8" and the offset is 55mm from the center so 55mm + 4"(half the rim) = 156.6mm sound right?
