Random shake when shifting from 1st into 2nd

HI folks,

Car is 1992 SVX with a 4.44 swap, Ecutune TCU, Transgo shift kit, oil cooler and external magnetic tranny filter.
Randomly when taking off in traffic from 1st with light throttle, it would shake a little bit back and front before engaging 2nd gear.
This only happens at light throttle and sometimes at a right turn. No matter cold or warm car.
If you drive it at medium throttle it fine.
Checked the oil -pink, clear, no smell, at the right level, but when you wipe the stick with a white cloth you can see grey dust.
Did open the magnetic filter and it was full of these grey dust and very tiny small particles that seem of metal origin. No codes stored

Help please.

Re: Random shake when shifting from 1st into 2nd

Hi,

The info you provided is quite limited ..........

How does it "shake"? Does the engine hesitate? Is the shift delayed or looooong? Does the whole car "shudder"? Could it be what is referred to as "binding" - between the front and rear?

Maybe worn front inner CVs? Sometimes the whole car seems to "shake" if the tripods are really worn...

Please elaborate

/T

PS the fact that your tranny seems to be "making metal" does not sound good - may or may not be related to what you described. By "magenetic filter" do you mean a real filter or a magnetic drain plug?
