subwoofer Q:

hi i just installed a subwoofer
i can hear a poping sound when the subwoofer powers my car engine wants to stall. the subwoofer works but the car my security light comes on and the horn honked a couple of times by it self then a check engine light.....

Check your alternator output while the sub is running. If it's wearing out it may not have enough amperage to power the sound system and car at the same time. This can result in all sorts of weird symptoms.

I agree that it sounds like alternator issue.
What is the amp draw on your amp?

Security system prolly sees the low voltage as a threat, like if someone went to unhook your battery to make the alarm not work.

Solved: well, it was not the alternator i forgot to hook up the mass air flow senser plug in. i was working on my car last night to put in a new afe air filter and forgot to plug it back in but thanks for the quick responses.
