You sure it was an alpine not a tiger or at least a 65 alpine not a 50s alpine? II've never seen an rootes era alpine trade for 15k let alone 70k.

Yeah that's a tiger which followed the TVR Tuscan/Griffith and AC model of stuffing an american v-8 into an existing Brit bodied car. The Apline was the 4 cylinder variant which by most accounts was the "Buick" of the major Brit conv. of the time. It gave up a bit in performance and handling by offering a better ride and more proper amenities. A nice car but with a build number around 80k or so if I remember right it'll take some time to climb up just like the TR6 and MGB

Re: 16 cars to buy now in Sports and Exotic Mag

Any guesses / wild speculation as to how many SVXes will be left in 2030 ?

That's what I'm aiming for .. the car will be 38 years old then and I will be exactly its double - 76. I've got the perfect conditions to do it in terms of climate, no rust, rubber is good and supple, low annual mileage that's easy on the car, savvy mechanic who now knows the car inside-out ;-)

I imagine it will be fairly rare by then ?
