Griffin DriveSafe Hands on the Wheel Direct Deck

I recently purchased this product, which has a cassette at one end and a jack at the other which plugs into my iphone so I can listen to music or take phone calls over my radio. it does not work at all (no sound, just a buzzing). Has anyone determined that this product is not compatible with my '92 SVX? Or could my cassette deck be malfunctioning as I have never used it in the 6 years I have had the car? Thanks, Karen

I've seen other cassette adapters used in SVX's, not sure of the brand. I'd try a cassette, if you can find one.

I've had a couple of the cassette adapters. I've found certain brands will work and certain brands won't work.

One thing about the phone function with your Iphone.... it won't work. there is no mic ring on the jack that plugs into your phone and with the head phones in, the mic on the phone will not work. You will hear but not be heard.

Cassette adapters never worked for me on mine, so I opted for an FM transmitter and couldn't be happier..Works even better without my power-antenna hooked up.

Yeah, screw the tape deck, just get an FM transmitter for an iphone/ipod.
