eBay "Chinese" steering wheel 4 SVX

After about an hour sifting through garbage on ebay when looking up SVX stuff, I ran across a steering wheel that looked like it would be something on Batman's car. After laughing at it a bit, I decided to look for steering wheels that fit our car and ending up finding this interesting (and decent looking) steering wheel for our cars. I'm assuming it's Chinese cause that's where all the cheap stuff comes from. Although it says Taco on the pic... Hm. Mexicanese?

Says it's made of aluminum and I don't see why having it on there would be a bad thing unless the stitching is so terrible it falls apart but at $10.00, who can argue? You can even remove the goofy "Type R" cap and put "SVX" or something on there and make it look kind of awesome.

What do you guys think? Opinions on these or has nobody really tried anything like this?

Re: eBay "Chinese" steering wheel 4 SVX

it looks like a similar style to one i bought for my lil old corolla (same type R horn button) except this one is round mine was this shape
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVY...item3a62ed8c35
the stitching didn't fall apart but it faded very quickly and the metal is only about 1.5-2 mm thick it was quite flimsy imho (it got me a defect from the authorities and blue slip place wouldn't give me the blue slip with it on the car because it was too easily bendable wen pushing and pulling on it ) . buy it if you wish but i don't think you will be very impressed by it

Actually Type R are considered as the best of the Chinese crap...
A $10 steering wheel is not bad LOL

Re: eBay "Chinese" steering wheel 4 SVX

I think I'd pay more and get a wheel from a STi or other subaru. Ebay has wall to wall steeringwheels and you can get a old 90's nardi wheel without an airbag that is both OEM quality (and safety) or a more modern STi/WRX steeringwheel with airbag.

This really isn't a place for a cheap $10 part since OEM wheels are carefuly designed to be strong enough not to break in daily abuse, yet soft enough they properly give in a wreck.

Yeah when I learned it was paper thin and read at the bottom of the listing that it was for "show purposes" only, I decided a Momo steering wheel will work just fine.
