Need Help

I just got my SVX on the road today (finally).
Here is a list of problems...
The speedo jumps all over, it is sorta accurate at low speeds.
It wouldn't start a couple times. All the electrical appeared fine, it would just "click" once though, as if the battery was almost dead. As I pulled up to a stop sign it stalled. Any ideas?

Oh yeah ... when I first started the car, it wouldn't start until I put on the right hand directional (I just thought it was a safety thing)
could it be the ignition switch?

I assume that the speedo is unrelated from the start/stall problem. I would appreciate any help. Please.

I would remove it just to be sure. Also, have a place like AutoZone or Pepboys check out your alternator. They will do it for free, and it could save you some cash.

i had a remote starter on my winter beater. after work one day it was dead, so i took it to the shop. mechanic said it was the remote starter, and said they see alot of these things fail. they disconnected it, and all was good. it was really nice while it lasted, but i don't think i'll get another one.

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

You just got it on the road,....what did you just do to it?
As that might have some impact on what it could be.

It just got on the road because I just got tags for it. I bought it about two weeks ago.

Oh yeah, and the other gauges work just fine, the gas gauge takes awhile to climb after i put gas in. So I was hoping that maybe there might just be a loose connection, but thought I'd ask all of you before I went taking the dash apart.

The gas was kind of low when it stalled. I didn't think I was slowing down too quickly, and I don't know how these tanks are designed... but is it possible that the sending unit just couldn't get any gas?

Tomorrow I go in to work at 3 so I'll play around with it before just to see if it's the ignition, I think it might be. If not I'll have them get rid of that remote starter.

Thanks for the input everyone, any other thoughts would be helpful too.

Gas gage taking a while to climb is normal.
