Re: Rust Proofing

Check all the rust prone zones and treat with POR-15 The best product if you are serious!!!
Take off the plastic door cladding and check around holes for bolts
Check bottom of doors with inside panel off
Check subframes and A-arms
Check rear wheel well with plastic liner removed. Rust damage form dirt is common in here at the top of the wheel well.
Check rear strut mounts way up. These ruat away on cars that have not been washed off in the winter or the summer and just plain neglected
Check around rear light bolt holes when removed
Under the radiator dirt and salt and sand trap
Brake and steering lines in the engine compartment
If the hood or front fenders have EVER been replaced they are "toast". They will never make it.

How about parking it on gravel instead of grass?

Re: Rust Proofing

i heard a rumor that spraying the aerisol canned hairspray under the wheel wells before you go on a salty road helps deflect some of the salt. but its only the aerisol ones. you know the ones your grandma used to keep her "beehive" up lol
