Just thinking ...SVX value

Ok folks, I was just thinking what car being built today is closest to the SVX. 230HP, 230ish torque,AWD ( but does not have to be), sporty luxury, leather ....
Would be interesting to compare cars that fall into this category and what they cost...
I will do some research of my own and see what car I think best compares to my 94 SVX....
But I would like to hear from you....

Re: Just thinking ...SVX value

I dont think the WRX is luxury at all. I personally dont care for them when it comes to the quality of the ride... I havent been in any car that compares to the SVX when it comes to that...

If you are talking Subaru, maybe a Spec B would be a decent comparison.

What about the Nissan 350z. 350 kicks out more HP but it's an interesting comparison in a lot of ways....
Someone who knows their cars must have a good comparison out there.

Re: Just thinking ...SVX value

I would say the current Legacy GT's are the modern equivalent. The SVX isn't quite up to Spec B performance standards.

In terms of other new cars...I can't think of anything off the top of my head that combines the luxo-cruiser-ness and style that the SVX has. Maybe an Infinite G35, of it was detuned.

Actually!

Nissan's new Altima Coupe, probably the 2.5 to make up for it's lighter weight.

Re: Just thinking ...SVX value

Well at least I get better highway mileage.

I think if the SVX were made today, those are very much along the lines of the specs it would have. Perhaps a tad more power (270-280 type thing). The new 3.6L H-6 with more tuning for power would be an awesome powerplant.

Re: Just thinking ...SVX value

what about the Lexus SC430, 2 dr, luxury sporty car. 280 HP if I remember, however it is a V8. thinking about it, it is a convertable, but with the top up, it is pretty close, although at 65,000, the price is pretty steep. I agree with the 350z, that is a pretty close comparison. The CLK 350 might be close, priced less than the Lexus(45,000), V6, hardtop, 2 dr, 260 hp I think. There are not many cars which are similar to the SVX. Back in the day, I think the Nissan 300zx N/A was pretty close, same with the NA 3000gt, but thats about all I can think of. None of the new cars I mentioned have AWD though...
