Is another ground better?

From what I can see, it seems that some people have added an extra ground wire, either from the alternator to the battery or somewhere else. Is that something we all should do? If so, can anyone explain the details as to exactly where the extra ground should be connected? Thanks.

John Hoffman did a write-up on the basis of the "Alternator mod." He not only mentions the reasoning behind it, but records the results he noticed, before and after the mod.

Do a search on "Alternator Wiring Mod" and you'll probably come up with it.

(I know, I know -- I should put it in the "How To" locker)

theres a hole right infron of the battery. I have a wire running from my battery ground to this hole and i notice a definite difference in the brightness all my lights, plus when my sub hits now it doesnt seem to effect the lights as much either.
