Trying to find fuel filter

Hi, I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of the fuel filter? Is it in the gas tank or somewhere stupid like that, or is it fairly easy to get to?

The fuel filter is the bright aluminum canister located at the rear of the engine compartment on the
driver's side, with the rubber houses going to the engine. Right behind the coolant reservoir

But if you want to see REALLY clean, Harry Newman (newsvx) is the one to beat! No matter how deep into the
engine compartment you look, its just perfect. Even a remote controlled Dremel couldn't get to some of the nooks

You should be able to do it with just a phillips screwdriver. Those hoses get stubborn at times though so be careful not to tear them. FI hose is expensive compared to regular fuel line.

Damn hoses

hey everyone, are there any tricks for getting the hoses off?? I was not able to get them to seperate. Is there vacume pressure or anything that could be released? Thanks a lot.

No tricks, its just that the hose has bonded itself to the fitting. If you take pliers and twist the hose it will sometimes help break the bond. Or use a screwdriver to gently push the hose off.

If all else fails, cut and replace. Just take the old hoses to any auto parts store and they should be able to hook you up with the proper size of tubing. But the other end of the feed line is a pain to get to where it meets the firewall

You can relieve the fuel pressure somewhere behind the passenger seat (check your manual) but it's not necessary. Just try to pry the hose open enough to spray liquid wrench or similar into it. Then pull and rotate slowly by hand. If you use a pliers, place a cloth between the pliers teeth and hose, this will prevent damage to the hose.
