Ben,
You know, I've got a spare EG33....what class do you think a stripped out, EG33-equipped XT would run in

No class! It would be exempt from any class you would want to attempt to run it in so it is pretty much useless to install it.

So, how much you said you were willing to sell that engine to me for? Peanuts? Deal!! I'll send you my address or I can pick it up this weekend.

Will a Justy WRX suffice?
http://sites.rapidus.net/labrecqj/justywrx/english.html

Forget that....just put an STi engine in it to one-up that guy.

Now why would I want to do that? It would be in a Modified class but not sure which one. Our racer I think is faster. Tough to tell as he's got the stick which gives you more power immediately and still has some issues to work through but doing the math he still outweighs us and the XT isn't quite as strong of a platform to go on a diet plan like the SVX is. I get door sag out of mine when I jack it up!

Well the engine will be built and replace our tired 150k engine in the car now so maybe we can talk about Hocrests grenaded engine!

When did that happen and why wasn't I informed?

We have 3 Justy's and we can use the SVX engine from my dad's wrecked SVX if he never actually fixes it.

...of course it would have to be mid-engined

Turbo XT

Sort of makes me wish I still had my 86 Turbo XT GL10 5spd. It was a nice looking car even if it was only FWD. Ran pretty well too as long as you kept the RPM up. I wonder if I could have fit an SVX FWD drivetrain in it? Talk about front wheel spin...........

Another thought though---I bet you could rig up a cold air intake with the Turbo XT hood.

Lee,
The EG33 would never fit into a 4 cylinder XT engine bay without some major cutting, the XT6 had the radiator support moved forward about 6 inches to allow the ER27 6 cylinder to fit.....but a 2.5 Turbo motor in a Turbo XT would be REALLY wicked......light and fast
