Cool Pontiac Fiero has come home.

The Pontiac Fiero came home. It needs some minor work, but it's a great car. My uncle bought it new back in 86. Just with life being the way it is for him, he had to get rid of it. So the Fiero stays in the family. The picture makes my SVX look black rather than burgundy, but that's what you get when you use a crappy digital camera.

Not only does it look burgundy, but the pic quality is miles above mine. (:

Well, you can say the Fiero is the ancestot of the Opel Speedster and the Vauxhall VRX220 as well as the VXLightning which is the same as the Solstice.

Ex Bro-in-law had an early 4cyl version and wasn't very well executed, but the later V-6 versions were pretty well put together, only to be cancelled! Another GM miscue perhaps? A shame to see so few years later a "General" that sells more trucks and SUV's than cars. oops! soapboxing again!

GM has a habit of cancelling vehicles just after they finally get them nearly perfect. *cough*f-body*cough*

Not this Fiero. I wanna try to keep it stock because it's been in the family since the day it was bought...just like the 68 Cadillac. But my brother and I are working on finding a GT fast back with a crap engine or no engine to put a V8 in.

Good... as long as you get one fiero and fix GM's "mistake". The Northstar and Gen III's are a good start.

I'd stay away from the Northstar unless you get a brand new motor. Very very expensive parts. The 440hp supercharged 4.6L is available through GMPP, though i doubt you'd want to plunk down that kind of cash for a fiero project. The Gen III in my mind would be the ideal choice. You can pick one out of a wrecked car complete with harness and T-56 for under $2000. Very simple to maintain, rock solid, and the aftermarket choices are endless. Even the Series II 3800 and it's supercharged version would work.
