AAA "Battery Tech" Service ???
Say folks, Just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this service from AAA. While in San Jose, 2 starts away from home, and suspecting a dying battery after a couple of slow starts, I had the displeasure of a no-start after checking out of my hotel. Calling AAA for assistance I was asked if I'd like a "Battery Tech" dispatched, and was told they would be able to test the charging system, etc and agreed, being told 1 hour. Thirty minutes later I found him at my car, and he promptly jump-started my car.
This is where it got interesting. He metered the charging sys, declaring it stable at 14.4v, then switched to battery, declaring it "junk". I replied I would have to visit Sears before leaving town and he asked if I would like to purchase a new battery, with better warranty than DieHard, and backed by AAA. Needless to say 15 minutes later I was driving away with a new 6 year warrantied battery, and not facing bumming a jump at my worksite that evening to get home. In addition I was called thet afternoon and asked if I was satisfied with the service. Hell YES!!! I was also pleasantly surprised to be told the dispatch would not count against my 3 allowed services per year on my AAA+ card. Maybe I missed it amongst all the collateral in my monthly statements, but I was very pleased to learn of this service and wondered if anyone else was aware? Glenn Besides, this forum has been waaaay too dead of late!

Napa, OOOPS!! Just got it! Is that really your gig?? Earl, I've been aAAA member for about 27 years, and used their services many times, but it was wonderful to have this service roll out for me, since upgrading to Plus service after a $700 tow bill to truck the Leggy home 2 years ago with a broken $65 shift rod.
