Painting In/Near MD

Hey guys,

Can anyone recommend a good place in the MD area, preferably closer to sykesville/westminster/baltimore area to get my car repainted at? The years have caught up with the paint and I'm finally thinking it's time to get it redone (Maybe make the car a show car) so I'm looking for any recommendations or horror stories. Right now I'm hoping to keep it below 3500 (research says painting is expensive) if possible. Thanks again!

-Mike

Significant Technical Input Registered SVX Classic SVX
FIVE STAR AUTO BODY

1209 Old Dorsey Road
Harmans, MD 21077 (near BWI airport)
Telephone: 410-760-7711

This is a top-notch body repair and paint shop. Flawless paint matching and finish. Extreme attention to detail. (They did the complete repaint of Ron Mummert's black 92 SVX and a superb partial repaint of the "svxcess" polo green 96; who is a very hard member to please)

Prices are extremely reasonable and the owner,Greg Dunivan, is a wonderful guy to deal with. The shop is bright and extremely clean and spacious.

I recommend this shop far above over any I have seen so far in this area. Those who have followed my recommendation are extremely pleased.

For more info, either PM or email me or Ron Mummert on the network. I believe they painted Ron's car for less than $3500. They took off everything that could possibly be taken off (bumpers, lower cladding, side cladding, sunroof panel, etc. and painted each piece separately.

They did the same with mine. I had both bumpers removed and painted, the trunklid, spoiler, lower rear cladding and the entire roof/sunroof panel done for about $1100. Feel free to inspect their work on either of our cars. We both live in the Ellicott City area, off of Route 29

Thumbs up

Mine was done there two years ago for $2,800. It still looks 100% under all the dirt.

Cool, thanks guys. 2,800 sound pretty reasonable accounting for all the times I've read about otehr people getting their's painted. I'll have to give them a call and see how much they'd charge me (I need a few dents rolled out too). Now to figure out what else my car needs...

showcase autobody is the best in the area that i have seen. their at the corner of 140 and 91 kind of in finksburg between wesminister hampstead and reisterstown. the quoted me at ithink 3600. i didn't go their tough, i wish i did. they disassemble and chemically strip all the metal parts as opposed to media/sand blast wich can damage the parts. they do door jams and engine bay.
