this is a first.

i've had a front end vibration felt when braking, particularly at speed, and feared the worst. Mike Corbin, ever the gentleman, prepared several estimates for several repair scenarios, from turning the rotors to replacing them all, new pads, et al. i've priced replacement rotors and pm'd people with experience with svx brakes, looking a for advice on how to get things fixed in a way i could afford. i've been dragging my feet about taking the car in, due to our less-than-optimal financial situation, but i finally bit the bullet and made an appointment last week. I asked for the least costly repair he quoted for the front brakes, asking also that if they discovered anything that would add cost to abort and call me. well, i got a call around mid-day to tell me that they could put it right for about 60% of the estimated cost.

i've never had an auto repair place call and say "i'm sorry, but it will cost LESS than we estimated"!
