Yes I have removed the front struts from my car and yes the bolts that hold the strut to the steering knuckle were hard to get off the first time, easier the second time. You need a half inch drive breaker bar, tight fitting socket and a 3 foot long pipe to get them off the first time.

How much do you weigh?

Did you stand on it or just push on it?

With a 3 foot long pipe and all of my seemingly ever increasing personal mass I think I'd be able to flip the car!

140 pounds is about what I weigh. The position of the breaker bar is not great. You have a limited range between the rotor disk and the wheel well. A little corrosion sticks the nut pretty good.
