Front end creeking
I've noticed the front end on my car most noticeably the left front sounds like a creeking pirate ship when turning forward or reverse at slower speeds.
I also notice when going over speed humps ( I have a few at my apartment) that something sounds like it's loose and squeaky in the same area. Could my strut be bad or the mount? |

Re: Front end creaking
That's incredibly weird -- I've been noticing this exact same problem over the past couple of days.
Occasionally, when I move forward or backwards from a standing stop, you will hear that low pitched "CREEEAAAAK". The pirate ship analogy is a perfect way to describe it. It seems to be related (in my case, anyway) to the wheels, as it only happens at very low speeds and right before/after coming to a complete stop. Would the struts or springs be affected at that low speed? |

Re: Front end creeking
Are you guys running polyurethane bushings? If so, the grease probably dried up and needs to be regreased. That's currently the issue I have with my car, but I'm too lazy to regrease them

Strut mounts perhaps?

Re: Front end creeking
I'm running the standard bushings, whatever they are made of...haven't regreased anything, but at slow speeds, how can struts/strut mounts really make noise and move around that much?? I am driving on flat ground too...weird
I can check to see if the strut is leaking, but what's a worn mount look like? |

Have you checked your tie rod ends?

Re: Front end creeking
I can push down on the left front fender and hear some type of noise...when I push down on the right front, the noise is still present on the left front...kinda seems like a strut issue now.
How do you check tie rod ends? Check if they are loose? WOuldn't the car handle funny? |
