WTB: EG33 Cylinder Head Piece

Hello all,

Currently rebuilding my EG33 and one of the hydraulic lifter LINERS was damaged so the machine shop removed it. They are not available individually, only with the head assembly, so if anyone has a bad head kicking around that they could have a machine shop pull a couple out, that would be great. I would of course reimburse you for the machine shop costs (with a deposit up front so you are not out of pocket) and shipping/your time.

Need this liner:

Missing here:

For reference:

cheers
-Evan

Ah, shucks. I have a head off of my blown engine I could part with, but would have preferred to drop off, I don't really have time to bring it to a machine shop.

Re: WTB: EG33 Cylinder Head Piece

What sort of damage is there to the heads? I might consider just buying both off of you to steal the liner from for now and maybe build up later.

Re: WTB: EG33 Cylinder Head Piece

The engine ate two rod bearings, both heads have pretty heavy scoring in the cam journals. Unfortunately parting with both would be a bit difficult right now. My life is a bit nomadic at the moment: I'm in Montreal, my tools are in Toronto, and the engine is in Ottawa. One head is already removed from the engine, but I have no way right now of pulling the other one off. Another reason I would have preferred to meet up would be to let you inspect the HLA liner. I would presume that the liner is a relatively hard metal and bearing material wouldn't damage it, but I haven't looked at it myself to see one way or another.

Re: WTB: EG33 Cylinder Head Piece

Okay, thats fair enough. With the scoring on the cam journals, since they're not replaceable the heads won't be any use to me for the future. But would you consider tossing the head you have removed on greyhound or whatever is cheapest? Don't even worry about packaging it well, i'm sure out of the 12 liners one will be okay.

cheers

Re: WTB: EG33 Cylinder Head Piece

Sure, I can do that. I'll be in Ottawa on May 4th, so I can pick the head up while I'm there.

Re: WTB: EG33 Cylinder Head Piece

bump. Likely going to machine my own, but if anyone has a head thats NFG and could pull the piece for me that would save me some lathe work.

Re: WTB: EG33 Cylinder Head Piece

Still looking for this, if someone has one/a bad head they'd part with it would save me some lathe time.

cheers
