ABS Light

Started my car this morning and the ABS light is on. Any ideas as to why and how to fix? Thanks.

Is the abs still functioning? Are your brakes working as normal? Any pulsations when stopped at a light?

There could be several different causes for this:

1. ABS Relays in the under-hood module at the right front
2. ABS circuit in the fuse panel
3. Faulty Wheel Sensor
4. Broken wire to wheel sensor
5. Faulty ABS Computer

Given the circumstance as described, I would try troubleshooting the simple aspects of it first (fuses and relays), rather than going through the replacement of a sensor right away.

Brakes appear to be working normaly. I did not try to slam on the brakes to see if they are working. I guess that would have been a good place to start

Check the ABS error code to see what it is complaining about.

OK, Just started the car for the ride home from work and the light did not come on and stayed off the whole ride home. Is this something I should be worried about?

Check the codes, then you'll know if you have to worry...

Yea, but according to the information on how-to check the codes, the ABS warning light needs to come on. Since it did not come on I cannot check the codes. I guess I will just have to wait till it pops on again. Thanks for all the help.

The ABS light also comes on if one of the yellow connectors are loose. One of them is under the kick plate. Move it and see if the ABS light comes back on.

The yellow connectors are for the Airbag system.

I think it's a common problem: Remove the plastic cap with the ABS sticker on it and you will see a relais (don't know if it's the english word). Pull it out and knock it sometimes on a hard surface, then put it back in the holder. It will work again and the ABS lamp will go out. This will really help!!
Excuse for bad english cause i'm from Europe.

greets Eddy
