Power steering valve assembly gasket?

OK, I have done much work on many SVXs. The following is something I have not had to deal with. Now I have a problem in my lap and I am seeking advice from anyone that has previously dealt with this issue.

I have achieved a MASSIVE power steering fluid leak. Its on the left side of the car and I have seen this previously before just needing a new line and or clamps. This is not the case this time. I am seeping fluid between the control valve assembly and the valve assemble on the rack and pinion unit. There appears to be two fastener that Subaru has labeled "socket bolts" or a negative hex head screw that uses a 6mm allen wrench to adjust. I have attempted to tighten it and found both screws to be tight.

As there a gasket between there, an "O" ring, both, and if someone has dealt with this before, can they provide some insight on the repair procedure? (Young Tom, Old Tom, someone?)

Never dealt with it to be honest... Usually a rack leak is from the seals not a gasket... this is new. Figure I would ask... but you are 100% this is where it is comming from??

Yes, I watched it seep out into several drops after I wiped it with a rag, just to drip all over my shirt. I will take some pictures of it tomorrow if I can manage not to get the camera covered. I hope by morning it will have lost enough fluid to stop dripping.

Is this what you need?

go to subaruparts.com and sign in

There is a complete breakdown on the system.

[ MAIN ][ SVX ][ 1992 4WD ][ Steering System and Cable ][ Power Steering Gear Box (electronically Controlled ]

If not, there will be a breakdown on the other type.
If neither of these are what you are talking about, there will be a complete parts breakdown on whatever you are talking about... I am not sure
