Hey you guys in the UK
I want headlight washers I need headlight washers I was thinking about this the other day and you blokes have got it. I need this safety feature. Does anyone have a picture of the headlight with washer? Is it a special headlight assembly? Where is the button for "washing the headlights"? Part numbers? Thanks

washers
I must be very lucky -both my cars having working headlamp washers, so I'll have a look tomorrow and see what I think goes where and why and even how and report back.

The headlamp washer button is on the taskbar to the left of the Steering Wheel next to the Hazeard Lights Button - when you use it with the lights on you get a merry little fizzz of water that leaves the lens brighter for about 10 seconds, but it doesn't have much spread and as it has no wiper, is a bit symbolic but feels good.

Has anyone sussed out yet where the pump for the headlamp washers is? I'm fairly sure mine is on the fritz but I have no idea where it is.

Hi Monzta, it is pn 86611 - Motor and pump assembly, down left on my picture I sent, just next to the second tank (for headlamp washer)

Thanks for that Peter, but I wondered where physically in the car it was mounted. I don't want to start stripping down the wrong area if I can help it.

It is connected to the second, smaller tank (not the main for windshield as well). As I remeber you talked about you have found out two tanks, I am just looking at schema.

No, I've only found the windscreen washer bottle. The schematic shows what looks like another bottle with a pump attached but I have no idea where it's actually located within the car. Why would the headlamps need their own bottle and if it does exist why then does water flow from the main windscreen bottle to this other bottle? It's all very complicated.

An additional tank will cost more money - more money = profit!
Probably the reason for two tanks is that it would be a seperate option which could be installed seperat from the other cars without the washers. Good luck on this. I have been watching with interest.

I was not too fast to lubricate doors rubber seals so it froze together :-( It is impossible to deftrost it in -12°C... I have to wait...
Which brand will you use for your brakes? I will have to do it in summer and think about Brembo... Peter |
