Re: '96 Transmission Death in Deleware County Pa?

i'm gonna go with clogged pump, best way to find out if anything is broken, drain the fluid and see if you have metal bits

Re: '96 Transmission Death in Deleware County Pa?

I went to see the car today - filled up to full mark and car moves under it's own power but with same high pitched grinding (sounds like loud power steering starvation).

I will get a 2nd opinion soon and may go with a 4.44.

I'm shopping around for a S5 in the background for now!

Forward motion (sporatic), squeeling, and movement after letting it cool for 15 min or so but stopping again usually points to the transmission pump.

I just rescued a Jeep a few weeks ago and the person was having the same issue. 2k later it drives great for the new owner.

Re: '96 Transmission Death in Deleware County Pa?

I am guessing the transmission pump is inside the transmission right?

Re: '96 Transmission Death in Deleware County Pa?

Sadly, I will not be repairing my SVX.

I cannot bear to rip it apart piece by piece either.

I'll post in the FOR SALE forum later.

*sigh*
