Speed sensor - odo and speedo?

I have a 92 LSL. I don't have a working speed sensor right now and obviously my speedo doesn't work. My question is are the odo and speedo both controlled by that same sensor? My odometer hasn't moved since I got the car back on the street and i've gone around 300 miles or so. Any answers would be appreciated.

Yeah, both the Odo and Speedo are controlled by a signal from the ECU that gets a signal from the speed sensor.
