Dead in driveway

Several problems, but lets start with the immediate one. Right now if I let my 1992 SVX sit for a few hours disconnected from the battery it will start and run for 4-5 seconds before shutting down. Checked the codes and it's throwing a 12. I'm suspecting the MAF but the starter switch may be bad too as it's pulling amps while turned off. I'm way open for suggestions.

Does it run rough while it is running?? I gotta look to see what a code 12 is

It revs up smooth, then it's like the computer shuts off spark. And 4-5 seconds may be optimistic.

well that makes sense. The code is for the ignition switch... Time to break out the multimeter or maybe just a test light to find out where you are losing continuity.
