Please HELP!! does anyone know how to remove the Crankshaft Sprocket?

this Crankshaft Sprocket thing has to come off to replace the oil pump eral and o ring. It looks like it has 2 holes that bolt could be screwed into and that would push it off? If this is not the case, it ain't happening

I think you need to use a puller if its stuck on there.

thread those 2 holes with a metric 8x1.25 tap. The use a flat steering wheel puller to take it off.... DON'T pry it of from behind.... that will only bend the timing sprockets and break them

The manual advises:-

Tap the two holes in the sprocket using a 8 mm, 1.25 mm pitch tap. Drill 10 mm holes on a 41 mm radius, in the plate on a puller. Fasten the plate to the sprocket using two M8 bolts. Use the puller centre bolt against the end of the crankshaft to remove the sprocket.

On this basis a puller could be knocked up using a plate and a large nut and bolt.

"Knocked up"?? Humm, then we will have a some little pullers around. J/K Trevor. In our colonial English knocked up means getting pregnant by accident.

Just another of those unexplainable differences in the supposed same language.

In my distant youth this was a common term meaning to put something together quickly and using what was on hand. At the same time there are knockers,( Several varieties) and those who get knocked up.

Question One question...

Is "up the duff" somehow related to a "plum duff"?

Oh, bugger all!

Cheers!

p.s Trevor: please read and comment as you feel appropriate on my post re: the two power steering systems & brakes
