Check engine light question

Hey guys...

My upper radiator hose was leaking so my brother and I ended up changing it with a new one yesterday. A little bit of antifreeze spilled out of the hose when removing it but we managed to clean it up. Everything was fine yesterday and we made sure we dried everything up.

This morning my check engine light comes up for code 22, 37 and 32.

It's a little strange but the check engine light goes away under load (above 2000 rpm) but comes back as soon as it starts to come closer to idle.

Is it a coincidence for the knock sensor and both oxygen sensors to throw a code or did spilling really have that detrimental of an effect?

Tim did you top the radiator up after you finished? Try clearing the codes, see if they come back.

Harvey.

Strangely, the check engine lights went away after all the remnants of coolant dried out and haven't been back since. However, at 41.99 a piece I might as well replace the knock sensors since they are showing signs of cracking at 135,000 miles.

are they original?

you might pick up some better MPG by changing them, too.

Both the knock and the oxygen sensors are original . I'm hoping to get better mileage again. 2 months ago I went to upstate new york and averaged 28.8 miles per gallon. 2 weeks ago I went to Connecticut and only averaged 26 so I'm hoping to bump myself back up.

On highways I average 70 and the highest I usually go is 75.... that's probably why .... Also when accelerating I usually try to never gas it above 2500 RPM and thats usually how i save gas... although it's hard to resist that urge...
