Alternate SVX Parts Source

I've searched all over for places to buy SVX parts. The big part chains, Autozone, Advance Auto, Kragen, Orielly's, Pep Boys, etc. are of little use. I was pretty much resigned to buying parts from Subaruparts.com or or 1stsubaruparts.com. Finally, I searched Rock Auto and was surprised to see they list many parts the big chains don't carry. I'm thinking the main reason is that Rock Auto sells brands the others don't.

I was able to get engine gaskets, a set of valve seals ($18.00), an expansion valve and receiver/dryer for my A/C, some engine seals and a few other things. Alot of the prices were cheaper than the dealer.

Anyway, now I have three places to search for parts.....the search continues.

You might want to consider submitting Rock Auto for a listing under the Links section of this forum, under Parts. It would have to be approved by an administrator according to the submittal form link.

i've searched them alot... but never actually purchased. Price and selection are pretty good. I'd wait to see what you get before I recommend them, but looks good.

Of the things I ordered, the parts are from ACDelco, BCA, and Corteco. Corteco makes gaskets and seals. I've used their stuff before and it's good quality. However, I'll let you know how it goes once the stuff arrives.

Maybe it's different in other areas, but I've had no trouble getting anything I've needed, in a timely manner, from the local chains. I've snagged accessory and timing belts, air, oil, and fuel filters, hoses, a thermostat, a water pump, an AC filter/dryer, transmission gasket & filter sets, an ECU coolant temp sensor, and a rear wheel bearing & seal set, personally or by way of my mechanic, from either O'Reilly's or NAPA. The accessory belts and one radiator hose were in-stock; the remainder was on the counter by lunchtime the next day. O'Reilly's even had the coolant temp sensor's Subaru part number cross-referenced in its system. By contrast, the only stuff that comes to mind that one of those outfits DIDN'T have was an OEM antenna mast, intake cover fastener pins, side marker light bulb sockets, a replacement "campaign" ATF filter, and a one-piece crank pulley. (O'Reilly's gave me a quote on an OEM crank pulley that bested the nearest Subaru dealer, but the one-piece was cheaper still.)
