Brake's/External trans filter kit
It's about that time....front brakes worn out....and I want to do a drilled/slotted rotor upgrade, and ceramic or carbon pad update and was wondering if any of you had any link's that I can check out.
I had seen one here before with a group price on it,can't remember the comp though. And I know I most likely get the group rate but nevertheless,I want the upgrade. And Earl....if ya read this, can I get the info on the external trans filter kit,I have a temp gauge I want to put in and that look's the easiest for the sensor hook up.Did you leave the OEM filter in place also?I haven't even noticed the OEM filter on mine

This sucks, no replies.
Have you looked into Race Concepts for rotors?

PermaCool is the way to go on the transfilter - just make sure you get the kit that has the boss for the temperature gage sender already drilled and tapped. I've got RaceConcepts slotted and dimple-drilled rotors all around on my SVX. I wouldn't advise going with through-drilled rotors, as they are prone to crack over time.
-Bill p.s. as far as the stock trans filter goes, it's my understanding that it was only used on the 92 and 93 models (located on the driver's side front frame rail, right next to were the tie-down bracket bolts on)...but then I could be wrong

Gosh, one got by me. I didn't see this post until now.
I used the permaCool filter and the pictures are here. I took the OEM filter or campaign filter off when I installed the new one. As far as the rotors, I have the RaceConcepts rotors. They are the dimple drilled / slotted ones. I like the dimple drilled (1/8 inch deep) because they are not as apt to crack. I would also urge you to get the stainless steel brake lines. That is one of the best upgrades you can do. Hope this answers your questions.

haven't done the trans filter yet, but i got drilled/slotted rotors off ebay along with kevlar semi-metallic pads and they've been great. about 5k miles on them now and there still going strong with no problems. only paid 85 for the front rotors and 40 for the pads.
