I was not meaning to sound like I was complaining about the price.
Just wanted to show him the reality of it from edmunds.
Was hoping he would change his mind and keep it.

I think whomever got it did well. Problems aside, $1,400 isn't too shabby of a price for that car imo.

It's understandable. Also, as with any car to be honest, but especially with "collector" type cars, book value can be thrown out the window and straight into a fire. If you ever watch ebay, you'll see random SVXes fetch more money than an almost identical SVX. There are a lot of factors, and ultimately, what a certain buyer is willing to pay for a car is what determines the value. You only need to find one person to pay what you want, or what you're willing to accept.

Also, edmunds is a joke for valuing cars (too low), as is KBB (too high). NADA is probably the best place to go for valuing a car, but even then, there are a lot of factors.

I have been watching the Mecum car auctions on TV. The difference in $ from what look like identical cars is amazing. And cars you think would fetch big $ don't and cars that you would think are too common do.
