4.44 Neutral Safety Switch

So my car is currently undergoing the 4.44 swap. My mechanic has finished putting in the tranny and the modified rear diff, but when he goes to start it, he said the lights turn on and everything but doesn't crank. He seems to think the neutral safety switch from the new transmission (Out of a 98 Legacy GT) doesn't match up and we need to use the one from the original SVX transmission.

Has anybody run into anything like this? Could this be something other than the neutral safety switch?

Re: 4.44 Neutral Safety Switch

The switch could be bad...but should be the same....maybe the signal wire to the starter is loose....
