Congratulations, Doug. Wow, that's 8 wheelbearings to ponder!
How is John? He hadn't posted here in ages, but he always struck me as quality folk. I trust the car was babied? Have fun - Ron.

"Black over Claret, nice colour "
Doug now has two black over Claret SVXs. I think they were "born" only a couple of months apart late in '91. My early choice for the B over C was to match Doug's machine so his neighbors wouldn't talk when I came a callin' while he was out on business. But then he got them big damn dogs and, well, it just wasn't as much fun visiting Mrs. Mohr if'n you know what I mean. Actually I liked the car for all the right reasons. I enjoyed putting the 80,000 or so miles on it that I did over about 3 years of ownership. Almost all highway miles. Certainly would have liked to have done some meets with it but there's that house project. Actually Doug could attest, after his brief visit last night, that the current area under project control more resembles the World's largest litter box. Which just makes me more certain that I done something wrong in a past life. And Doug, regarding the Omni. Might I suggest putting it out on the front lawn, remove the engine, put it up on blocks, leave the hood open and watch a tree grow up through it. Always a nice arrangement. If all goes well in a few years there'll be a high mileage Honda, Civic EX up for sale. May she treat you well Douglas. And keep me posted on the tires. |

John,
Good luck with the house project. Don't be a stranger, you're always welcome here and at any SVX Meets that you come to. Remember, once an SVXer always an SVXer. Good Luck.

Larry,
I think I'll take you up on hanging out here a little more often. I think it would be a nice diversion from "world events" if you catch my drift. The house projects have always gotten quickly to the point where I'm standing on a huge rubble pile asking, "WHAT was the guy smoking the day he did THIS job?!?" The current project has gotten past that to the, "Well, how in God's name am I going to repair THIS mess?!?". Which means I'll quickly be coming to the, "Hey, Honey, what would you like me to do about this problem here, here, here and here?". To which the project will come to a halt and I can relax for about the next eight years or so. I'm sure Doug and I will stay in touch (he needs some bricks stacked after all) and he might allow me to take a cruise with the old girl once in awhile. He might even let me take the car for a ride too I do miss the car to a certain point but right now I'm diggin' the 35mph on 87 octane and the 3.5 quart oil changes. Who knows, maybe I'll save enough money to finally build me that airplane..... |
