94 and 95 are both the same color which is listed as 'emerald pearl' in the subaru paint book. It was called Polo green in all the literature though for 95. Who knows why. It's the same color. (Note the paint code)

I think they got extra barrels of paint and decided to paint the 95s with the same paint.

Just my thoughs...

I don't recall any black over greens at all unless it was custom painted.

But if you look at the paint code, it is the same shade as the emeral green.

Polo Green is a lot greener.

Some greens are greener than others.

ugh... Do this. Go to the dealer and buy a can of emerald pearl touch up paint, and buy a can of polo green. Tell me which one matches. ok?

Here is a copy of something I posted a LONG time ago:

I have reserached this issue. Here is the breakdown of the colors. In some years they changed the color name, and not the color itself, and in some years they changed the color, but not the name.

1992
Dark Teal - Paint Code 269

1993
No Green Offered

1994
Emerald Pearl - Paint Code 434

1995
Polo Green - Paint Code 434

1996
Polo Green - Paint Code 517

1997
Polo Green - Paint Code 517

The color names were decided by marketing people, not subaru. Even though the color of the 95 SVX's was still what subaru called "Emerald Pearl," the color was renamed "Polo Green" because at that time, Polo was more appealing to the public than Emerald.

The window sticker for my car says "Polo Green" but when I bought touchup from the dealer, the can reads "Emerald Pearl." SOOOO 94 and 95 were Emerald Pearl, and 96-97 were Polo Green.

My car is Emerald Pearl... and so are all the other 95's. The SOA marketing people just changed the name.
