O2 Sensor

SUBYDOO is in the shop today getting his rear oxygen sensor worked on. SUBYDOO is our Bordeax Pearl (burgundy) LSi. The '96 & '97 SVXes have 3 (yes 3) O2 sensors. The third, or rear, one is is located on top of the cat. converter. When the check engine light came on I had an OBD II check ran on it.
The OBD II scanner said that the rear O2 sensor had a faulty heating circuit.

The service mgr. ,Steve N., said that that usually means a problem in the wiring or plug but ordered an O2 sensor, just in case. Well the parts came in, so I dropped the car off yesterday evening.

I expect to get the car this afternoon. Charlie ( my favorite SVX tech.) will work on it.

Since the car is still under the extended warrantee, Subaru Gold, I will only have to pay the $100 deductible fee.

Well I picked up SUBYDOO. The O2 sensor needed replacement. It cost me $106 ( $100 warrantee deductible + $6 PA tax).

The car runs fine.

The most interesting thing happened at the dealership. I pulled the pearl white, '94 SVX , Pearly, right behind SUBYDOO at the dealership service dept. Rosie & I went in to pay the bill & get the keys. When we came out, an almost new, beautiful silver Porshe Carrera Turbo pulled in behind Pearly. One of the salesmen that I know got out and noticed that I was eyeing. He asked me if I wanted to buy it. He said, "It's faster and corners better than your SVXes." I replied, "But not in snow." He said, "You sure got that right."

It was nice to see two SVXes and a Porsche all lined up, nose to tail, in a row.
I never seem to have my camera when I really need it.

a Carrera 4 or new Turbo would.
