OT: Name my cat

Well...not my cat...more like my wife's cat...

Lemme explain...

There seems to be some kind of hereditary condition that my wife inherited from her mother. This condition draws stray cats to them. I won't tell you how many cats her mom has now, but suffice it to say that it's a little bit more than [i]far too many.[i/]

I love cats. I've lived with cats my entire life. But they don't walk into my building, through the hallways, into my office and sit at my feet while I'm working.

I'm not kidding, that's what she tells me happened this morning while she was sitting at her desk.

So we probably have another cat. As some of you know, I named our current cat, Maia, after a star in the Pleiades constellation. I also found out this year that Subaru sold a convertible version of the 360 in New Zealand as the 'Maia.'

This new cat is a boy, about 6 months old. Obviously, being male (for the next day or so before we remedy that), I can't name him after one of the Seven Sisters. And I don't think 'Fuji' will fly.

So let's have some recommendations.

We need to keep Wendy and Amber separated!

My wife (and her family) suffer from this same strange disease!.

We've got four cats.

Me, I suffer from the canine variant and have collected 3 dogs.

Luke is a pretty cool name, for a cat. Judging by the lack of "Luke's" running around, people don't feel it's a good name for a human.

My lead here at work is 'Luke...' it'd be creepy to name a cat the same...

But, thanks!

You want us to help name what???

I'm apalled! Personally I think that coming up with a pet name for your wife's "cat" is a private matter between the two of you

Now if you wanted help naming a stray cat that stumbled upon her I would suggest something like the following:

Subie (not too original but not that bad either)
Tracker (hey, he found her didn't he?)
Alcyone
Giorgetto or Giugiaro
Impreza
or even......Mr. Pockets (Already in use by someone else but a great name for a cat IMHO )

You can have the name "Rufus" if you want. I'll just rename my cat "Dumb***", which is what I normally call him anyway.
