About a month ago I finally decided to check another car off of my "car bucket list" by buying a 2000 bmw 740il. I wanted one with this particular interior color, which only came with blue exterior. However, I found a very rare bmw individual configuration of the car with the interior i wanted and an exterior in a custom individual color. For those that don't know BMW individual is a program where you can customize the car to make it any way you want. Literally anything.

The car that I found was a repo in Florida that had been completely mistreated and abused. I have spent the last month bringing it up to par through maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. The biggest surprise was that the engine blew after I had the car for about 2 weeks. It was fine when I got it, then lost compression in cylinder 2. So, I had to put an engine in it. That kind of blew my budget out of the water.

Buying this car was the worst mistake I've made in a long time. I was never a BMW fan, but always regarded the E38 as one of the most beautiful cars ever made. After draining my wallet of $10,000+ in repairs and maintenance, it's now one of the most well-sorted E38s in existence, but I'm done with it. It's for sale, and I've already replaced it with a 2008 Volvo S80 V8 Venator Sport.
