HID lights

One of my HID lights failed last night . When I turn them on one does the slow warm up the other flickers and dies . I disconnected it and I am running the original bulb for now . ($125 fine if a LEO sees one head light out ) Too cold to fool with it now . Most likely I will change out the whole system . Any idea what is wrong ? Can Cold weather effect it ?

and pay more than $19.99 for it !

I've had my Lavalux HID's in my low beams and fog lights since 2007 and never had a bulb or ballast problem.

But then I paid $199.00 for each kit back then.

I wouldn't use the HID high beams! The light pattern is uncontrollable with lots of unwanted glare. Dangerous for oncoming drivers and would probably get you a ticket

Probably good for driving lonely mountain roads or offroad across the desert, wher the high beams can be continuously used.

Re: HID lights

Do I need harness, eliminator and cables or just the kit ? Looking into 8000k
No is very thin 1 1/2 wide and 4" long and about 1" thick
Is it just the bulb that is the 8000k or 6000k or the whole kit . I have the 55 W now .

you do not need harnes eliminator or any thing.
the ballast has the correct electrical plug and the wires to connect to the bulb.

Re: HID lights

How a bout the 8000k or 6000k . I have 2 6000k bulbs now. if I buy 8000k and don't like it is it just a matter of changing the bulbs?

Re: HID lights

If you want the most light, get the 5000k I would personally stay away from anything higher than 6000k. You would look like a ricer with those annoying blue lights that make very little lights

I have to agree here, 5000k will have a touch of blue, but put out the best light.
I think 4300k is pure white and the most light period.

6000k will have pronounced blue and looks nice. any more and you get too much blue and not enough light.

and if you have 55w bulbs you can use them with 55w ballast only. you can however use the 2 bulbs you have with new ballasts the only thing I wouldnt do is use a new and an old bulb together.
The bulb changes color slightly as it ages and if you have 2 different aged ones they may be noticeably different.
