Paint Colors

Please Feel Free To Share Your Opinions! We Have Just Finished All The Bodywork On A 92 White Pearlie Svx Ls-l Touring Model... And Was Wondering What Color We Should Paint It? If We Decide To Change The Color We Have Already Made Up Our Minds That The Door Jams, Trunk And Under Hood Panels Will Also Be Painted. The Roof, Trunk Lid And Wing Are Staying Black. Has Anybody Seen Any Sweet Colors That Really Set An Svx Off? Perhaps A Two Tone? Or Some Thing Else Interesting.
We Are Still Open To Ideas! Please Share Your Thoughts?

Re: Paint Colors

I've got to say that the OEM colors look good when they are painted by code. I have seen Mike's claret and it's so much different from what they look like after 18 years. I've also seen a barcelona red that was freshly painted and it also looks much better than the 16 year old paint. (I hate red cars but the barcelona actually looked good) Funny enough, half of my liquid silver was repaired and repainted by code, can't tell much different in the paint.
Basically, any of the stock colors will look great when repainted and will look nothing like what those stock colors look like now. Just something to think about

Re: Paint Colors

.

My first choice would be to keep it pearl and black. Mike Davis (Green1995svx) had his 50K mile, 92 pearlie repainted and it is absolutely stunning!! You have no idea just how incredibly luminescent that color really is when not being hidden under 20 years of yellowing clear coat.

I always liked Michelle's (mnypnny) 92 copper and black, which first debuted at the 10th anniversary meet a decade ago.

Re: Paint Colors

The reds fade the most of any of the colors and would change the most through time. If they have been under cover or in a garage, they look much better of course.

Re: Paint Colors

My vote is to keep it a pearlie! This color is beautiful when care is taken to paint it properly.

Re: Paint Colors

I forgot about Mike's car. That's what happens when you're up too late.
Keep it pearl, get it painted to factory color code and it will look great
