A/T Cooler Hose Kit pdf

A/T Cooler Hose Kit
Author: Subaru
NUMBER: 16-57-93

DATE: 05-12-93

APPLICABILITY:
92MY SVX AFTER VIN NH106285 AND UP TO NH108731

SUBJECT:
4EAT COOLER HOSE KIT INSTALLATION
(WITHOUT FILTER KIT)

Modified transmission cooler hoses are available to ensure a more positive fit to prevent seepage. The Part Number for the modified hose kit is X4551PAOOO. A leaking transmission cooler hose at the transmission may easily be mistaken for a power steering leak since seepage from the transmission side hoses drip onto the power steering rack.

To replace the hoses:

1) Raise the vehicle and remove the 7 bolts securing the lower front splash guard. Place a drain pan under the hose to collect any drained automatic transmission fluid.

2) Replace the original hoses with the new hoses supplied in the kit.

NOTE: When replacing the hoses, it may be necessary to replace the clamps. (See Figure 1.).

CAUTION: When installing this kit, it is important to install all hoses in their correct positions. Failure to do so may result in major internal damage to the transmission.

3) Start the engine and inspect the hoses for leaks. Tighten the hose clamps as necessary. Also, make sure all hoses are not kinked or restricted in any way. Check the transmission oil level and add, if necessary.

4) Reinstall the front lower splash guard.
