cruise control won't work??

Hrm... today my c.c stopped working.

I press the Cruise button, light comes on. i press the switch down to engage the cruise (doing about 74-75 on the freeway) and it won't come on. i press the lever down and it just decelerates from the wind when i take my foot off the gas...

Been driving all over the place trying to get it to work on an off-chance, but no dice.

Any ideas? none of my nissans have ever had c.c.

At the back wall of the engine compartment is a black cylinder, like a small coke can, with a vacuum hose on one side and a cable on the other. Check that the vacuum hose hasn't come loose.

the vaccum hose slipped off, that did it! popped it back on, works like a charm again.

also, it's about the size of a can of those nasty little vienna sausages, and mounted sideways.

That was the first thing that came to mind when I read your post. I am glad it worked out that way.
