Fastest I got outa any of mine was 104. With a K&N too. As far as the rice goes, I have come to a new conclusion. Rice is anything that comes out of the factory (escort, neon, accord, accent, camry), anything cheap that is not made to be a sports car, but somehow under the owners supervision has become a sports car wannabe. Something that has enough work done to it to stay with a car like ours (which was a sports car out of the box). This is now my new theory on rice. I may be wrong in your eyes, but let me know what you think of this idea.

#1 It must be foreign so Escort and neon dont count
#2 It must be packing yellow paint and yellow doodads all over

Not actually -- that's the entire point of the analogy. You can take one that's been rolling around in it all day, clean it up, put a dress on it -- it's STILL a pig.

ok, so what is a lowered escort, w/ a supra wing, 17" rims, tinted out windows, custome paint, & stickers everywhere, and an ungodly huge exhaust?

And what is a neon w/ a full body kit, lowred, 17" rims, bright yellow custom paint, decals everwhere, hood scoop, turbo, repainted interior?

I consider those rice.

Notice, I said "at one time" I wanted to be an attorney. Then, I discovered how much people hated them. So, I decided to become a professional smarta$$ instead.

Wink rice or not rice?

Well, lets see.... for most of you if a car was not designed to be sports car and its modified then its a rice car... well then i guess ALL race cars are rice cars since they are come from stock cars in one way or another (exept F1, indi and so on). I personaly dont buy that idea.

why?

Because any mod done to a vehicle that brings functionality (performance gains) then its ok in my books. A porsche is a sports car out of the box. OK & so? if you can mofidy a car inexpensibly that can equal or outperform that porsche would you do it?

would you add performance to your SVX if it was easy & affordable to achieve? I think yes, i know i would and im not rice.

P.S. Disregard this words since they only worth II cents or less

That was not what I was leading to actualy. I said that any car that came out of the factory that was not a sports car, but was turned into one is rice. A porshe is not rice, a 300zx is not a rice, a 3000GT is not a rice, and an SVX is still not rice no matter what you do to them. They were made to fly from the factory. It's the civics and preludes, and even the kias that can keep up with the SVX that I consider rice. Even when they can go like heck and everyone says wow, that was a nice race, they still hold the image of an overgrown eggplant, or a banana on wheels. How fast could you possibly go in a kia before your bicycle wheels start to stretch and the car feels like it wants to fall apart. I guarantee you it's not even near what the SVX can do. Just try to stay clear of the fart boxes and 5 inch tailpipes.

I got to thinking about this the other day.. there seems to be a sort of sub-category of rice.. rice that only LOOKS fast.. you've seen and heard them.. honda's and neon's with outlandish wings, rims and exhaust systems that you can hear and see from a mile away.. but they take forever to go by you.

It's one thing when a riced-out car actually has the horsepower & torque to go along with the looks, but slow cars that look fast are something entirely different.

BoominSVX, so you're saying a 3000GT with a huge banner sticker taking up half the front and rear windshields, a single wiper conversion, double 5-inch fart pipes, and 25 lbs of stickers for mods that the car doesn't have... so that is not rice? And of course, the Civic with an H22A Prelude engine, turbo, and the mid wing is rice, right? Even if the Civic burns the 3000GT doing a 13.2 in the quarter mile?
