w000w. Just wanted to boast..
Just got myself a job at Consumer Auto Parts. A small chain of 30 stores in Mass. The big thing that differentiates (sp?) them from other car part stores, is they offer their employees anything at ACTUAL cost. Its watched carefully (we have to register in, our vehicles, so that we don't double dip).
Doing a bit of exploring on the computer inventory and availability, I can get things like rear wheel bearings for the SVX at $21 a piece. A CV axle was less then $20. Its amazing how much the mark up is between the factory, and the parts store. But unfortunately, my SVX is in long-term storage, 400 miles away. Couldn't afford to drive her anymore, especially with college coming (and my current slum/neighborhood isn't car friendly). So I can't do any installing. Just stock up on parts. So many choices though!! Any one in Mass who has spare time/crappy job, I suggest trying for CAP. Also wanted to say I'm still around. just lurking more then ever b/c life is so busy now w/ college preperations. James
