they totaled me!!!!!! apparently there was much damage to the lower radiator support a dent in the oil pan and the cat converters, plus the radiator, ac condenser, and the bumper.... i am so unhappy right now

the exterior body minus the front bumper is near flawless and the interior is mint, the car still starts and runs to move it (very cautious due to lack of radiator... i cant believe they totaled it!!!

So now you buy it back, fix it and buy another SVX with the money you have left over!

Definitely buy it back and fix it, check a couple small body shops around your area about the repairs.

I may even buy it if the price is right. Nothing some good old cutting/welding/smashing w/ a big Fin hammer cannot fix.

well i bought it, i still owe some money on the loan. im considering if im gonna fix it or use it as a parts car if i can find another. the problem is i still owe money on the ford i totaled last year so im making $500 worth of payments for cars not on the road. hopefully i can get a consolodation loan for several grand to cover the balance on the 2 vehicles and have the money for another SVX, at least i still have my P.O.S. colt vista wagon to "chitty chitty bang bang" to work and back.

im still deciding if im gonna fix it, sell it or use it for parts

make an offer

the body and interior are pristine (aside from the front bumper) if i get one with a bad engine/tranny or damaged body/interior id be all set to make a good one.

the claret my gf's uncle has needs a coil. hes shown some encouragement to having me part mine out (obviously) but im really having trouble deciding what to do.

id probly wantto take the sound/entertainment system out of it if i do sell it.

im still pissed thatthe tires are only 3 weeks old.

get this.... the insurance company was going to sell the car to the slavage yard for $400.... how insulting is that

the coopers i have on it are worth more than that, hell my sound system was worth almost as much as the payoff. i am jsut so upset right now

they didnt even put it on a lift before they decided to total it

so now there is a debate....

fix it

part it/sell as parts car

i would cutthe lower radiator support out and have to weld in another

replace the radiator and ac condensor

all the rest is cosmetic but id probly wantto replace the front control arm and the dented oil pan, the skid plate is repairable i think. the rest is just some scuffing. i dont think the o2 sensors are bad off...

i dont have a check engine light (how boutthat???)

please share thoughts

pics of the damage underneath (parental discretion advised, not for the meek)

I'd buy a bumper, and take it to a frame shop and have them straighten the radiator support.
Install a new Tranny pan, and Oil pan and be done with it, I saw nothing else that would be a problem.

I could probably get it fixed here for about $700-$800

(but you where VERY lucky you didn't rupture your plastic fuel tank )

In #3 is the transmission okay? It looks kinda banged up? .. But yeah, FIX IT! I did worse than that to my Legacy rallyin' it.. I went through a 2ft ditch, about 3, 8' mesquite trees (kinda small bushy ones) and then off a 5ft cliff. No joke. Just smashed everything back in place with a big F'in hammer.. replace damage parts. good to go. I'm surprised you came out as good as that! Replace those pans.. maybe the exhaust needs a good "upgrade" Looks like all you need is a new front bumper.. maybe a little body work on the underneath there... If you source out the parts you need for it thru here it should be a pretty cheap fix!

well im considering my options, i applied for a loan to consolidate the payments on my 2 totaled cars to free me up to make another car payment. if the loan goes through im buying me another svx, provided it doesnt need any parts,i will sell the one i have. if i cant getthe loan i will fix her and keep her untill the loans are paid off at which point i will then buy another svx. if the one i buy needs something off the one i have i will be parting her out instead once i get my parts needed from it. the tranny and engine work perfectly, they just have dents in the pans, ill replace the pans eventually (was gonna get a 2.25 inch exhaust in the spring anyway) but those scuffs and dents are not in anyway causing it to run any differently. as of right now mechanically the radiator and support are preventing it from being driveable, the rest of the stuff is mostly cosmetic. though the front bumper is a must fix. though i havnt exactly driven it for any period to find out in fear of the lack of coolant causing a problem i only drove it into the bay and backed it out of the bay into a parking spot. sitting inside it/ not looking atthe front passenger side....you cant tell theres any problems.

so to sum it up if i get the loan... ill buy a new svx... if i find one with nothing needed, i will sell mine as she is... if the new one needs any parts, i will part it out instead. ill fix her up if the loan doesnt go through (thank god i live with a car dealer/mechanic shop owner)

so if the loan doesnt kick in ill be needing some parts, and will be posting in the wtb section.

if the loan kicks in and i find a good svx ill sell her off.

i will consider offers though i just need to eliminate the current loan which is over $1400... (blackbeast has seen it personally. im sure if you pm him he can be an unbiased opinion on it)

I would sure like to see you get it fixed or sell it to someone who can. It doesn't sound like it is that bad. If it was closer, I would try to get it and get it fixed like I did with the 93 that was totaled. It was in much worse shape. It would cost me about $1,000 to get it here though.

Ray,
You seem to have a hard time driving on the Highway, welcome to NH, we have slippery roads. What is this the third or the fourth car that you have totaled due to highway driving? Be it your fault or not, I don't drive on the roads I have had fender benders on, hell noone in my family drives turkey hill rd, due to two accedents two people in my family had. I am truly sorry about your car, and glad that you are ok, stay the hell off highways from now on and fix the damn car. Or advertise the sued seats
