Unhappy Little Annoyed.......

guys, I am really starting to get annoyed by the constant dissing of SilverSpeare's SVX, if you don't like it, fine, but it seems like a large number of threads over the past couple of weeks have been putting it down. Whether you agree with what Danny has done or not, everyone should give him props for his initiative on working on the car, and doing all that custom work himself. In short, if you don't like his car, keep it to yourself, enough is enough, he is no less of an SVXmaniac than any of us.

If you think my last post comparing the "wide body" one to Silverspear's is suppose to be a leud reference, than I apologize. I actually find Silverspear's SVX very good looking and worth being in a auto mod magazine as well as auto salons.

Btw, where do you find posts dissing Silverspear's ride?

I read every post, but I don't see all of the negative posts that you speak about. Maybe I am not seeing them. I will agree that if someone does not like a members car, if it is to their liking, it should not be a target of the rest.

i don't want to quote and call people out, i'm just more or less asking people to be mindful of differing tastes in cars. One thing I have been thinking about a lot lately is the possible coming shift in the age spectrum of the SVX. Now that prices are dropping and the aftermarket with ECUtune is making them better and better, I was wondering if we would start seeing more and more younger SVX owners? thoughts anyone?

We get a wave of younger people all the time. They come, they go. But we stay all the time. Look at my member number.

We have seen more younger members over the last few years. It is difficult to know for sure, because very few put their birth year with their birthday on the profile.

I like Silverspears car. The mods are extremely tasteful. I can't think of anyone saying anything derogatory about his car.

The fact that some Mercedes tried to take his mods to a higher level ticks me off.

But he'll bring it back.

Yep.. I too agree with you. I came across some of the posts recently which are either directly or indirectly putting down his car. We all care about our cars and help ourselves really well, which i have never seen on any other car forums (except other subaru forums ). He is really thoughtful and creative in his mods, but i agree not everyone like all the mods. It doesnt mean to discourage others and disgrace them, but rather give out more ideas and boost their creativity even more. I have seen many of our members didn't like his copper intake mod, but its his idea and he wants some encouragment from all of us, but not some hard and harsh feelings. Anyway atlast he has done with it and ofcourse he is enjoying the improvement he got from it.

Anyway I would like to see all of us to be together and being helpful to eachother.

I hope he would bring his car back on the road with even more creative mods. Best of luck Dan

Man where have I been from all those threads about my car , Pavan just pointed that one to me, I never got the chance to see it up until now.

I really don't mind people criticising my mods. What I like, others don't, and what others like, I don't, it is just a matter of taste. Furthermore I might be getting another silver SVX that I saw in Lebanon, for cheap. So I will keep one 100% stock and the other 100% modified.

Let me tell you HOW i think. When tuning up a car, either chips, or cams, or turbocharging, you also need to do the exterior look. I was able through 3 years of hard work to realize what I have now and I am happy with it (so as all the chicks that see it ). What mods have I done so far? 1V4 chip, gaz feeling struts, OZ racing (MAE) wheels (fit perfectly, nobody says otherwise, just get a 15mm metal drill and enlarge the holes of a mercedes wheel and fit them along with rings), installed 1" aluminum brackets above the rear struts to rise the height from behind (I fitted 8.5" rims with lips, I don't want them to hit the fenders), enlarged the rear fenders a little bit before the paintjob, full fiberglass bodykit, reverse gauges, clear lens and corners, brembo brakes, ss B-lines and the best of all, and my best bang per buck, and I recommend to most of you is the E-0940 K&N inside a COPPER BOX.

There are more mods I have done that I really forgot about... oh silver painted interior, dual stainless exhaust with open mufflers (megan racing)....

I know a lot will still criticise me, I don't really care I will just IGNORE them as I promised. I am happy with what I have and what I done, for those who really like them, all that I can say is thank you all, I really appreciate it and I am always there for you if you ask me for anything.

AppStateSVX, Weebitob, ensteele, avppow ( ), seraph, electrophil, pavanbabut, and others, thank you all for your support.

I am also trying to figure out some cheap shipping means where I can get my mods to the states for those who want them and painted (I know painting costs a lot in the states, so I will paint them the color you specify and ship them to you) at low prices. This is just a suggestion.

Well I for one like Danny's mods, and I really like the front bumper. That said I am 18 and my brother Nick, also a SVXer is 17, all my buddies want one, and the car is the same price as a civic so yes, younger people will come. However due to all the money in Mods and repairs, I will stay.

From the time he has entered these boards why the hell do we have to have threads like this? I swear to you we have had at least 3 or 4 of them....this crap needs to really stop.

um... Why was this thread necessary? I mean yeah vent your furstrations but this is ludacris. People are entitles to their opinions, I try to keep mine to myself. No one needs to apologize to Danny and Danny can keep on doing whatever he wants to do. It's personal preference and when he is asking for opinions, doesn't mean he is always gonna get exactly what he is looking for

I agree with tom. Its the point of the forum to discus our ideas and opinions about the SVX?

I will openly say i dont care for some of his body work mods, but it his car if he wants to make its his more power to him! No apologies. I think its cool that he does it all custom on his own but i wont be out in my garage trying to copy his work. Its just not my taste. I hope he fixes it after his accident and enjoys his car some more. Doesnt mean i'll spend hours staring at pictures of it on the net but i will look at it for a minute just to admire the workmanship.

Oh and i'm almost 19 with an SVX obsession. I first saw one when i was 15 and the windows and paint job (92 pearlie) just totally won me over. Funnily enough the owner didnt have a clue what she had, it had mitsubishi stickers covering the word Subaru on the back! And believe me i've seen it several times since and its a freaking SVX! UIt took em a year to finally discover this mysterious mitzi was a Subaru and 3 months on ebay to buy one. And if i had space i'd start collecting them.
