Thanks to all!
USA rear drilled and slotted rotors will fit an european SVX?
I've found kits of front and rear drilled and slotted rotors from USA and I'm interested in buying it, will these kits fit my SVX?
Thanks!

You must not read the posts through. In my first reply I mentioned that US rear discs are not interchangeable with Japanese or European. This is because US rears are not ventilated like ours. So they are thinner. So the caliper slot is smaller.

If you really want to go US on the discs, you will have to fit US rear calipers also.

But this is more costly and is a retrograde step.

You have to stick with European or Japanese kit for the back brakes. For the fronts, US alternatives will fit OK.

Sorry for the bad news.

Joe

Ok svxistentialist. I read your first reply but I thought that vented and solid had the same thickness and it was a heat problem...
Now I know that it is a size matter.
So do someone know where can I buy REAR DRILLED SLOTTED ROTORS for my SVX???
Thanks!

Oh, now I see what you mean. The "vented" ones are the same as our front disks, with an air sandwich between the friction faces to let the heat get away more quickly, and so to avoid overheating and warping.

So they are thicker and require a larger caliper with a bigger opening.

If you are going away from the Subaru OEM disks because of price, then I would probably consider the EBC ones Andy used.

With a big, heavy, fast car like the SVX, it is not always a good idea to save money on brakes or tyres anyway. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks svxistentialist but it's not only a money matter, I wanted drilled and slotted discs, but I think they don't exist here in Europe only FRONT black diamond discs but I wanted also REAR and zinc plated, so I think I would buy EBC "normal" front discs because my presently rear are ok.
Regards!

Good, Supertole

If it ain't broke, why fix it?

Remember Earl's advice if you manage to get the slotted and drilled discs you want. He mentioned slotted and "dimpled"

The difference being, with the dimples, the disc faces are not drilled completely through, just partly drilled into the metal like the ones Andy sent a picture of.

The ones with the holes right through are bad news on the SVX. They have been known to crack through and shatter because the holes weaken the structure.
