Funny Story

I drove the first SVX in Connecticut. I was at a dealer and I had a Booklet that a friend of mine picked up at a car show in PA. He knew I was a Subi nut . On the front was a picture of the SVX this was in mid 1991....I showed the salesman he says "Yea cocept car we see them all the time. " "They will never build that." well I think it was 3 or 4 months later I get a call from the dealer It is the salesman. he says "John you want to drive areal SVX" I said let me think YEA RIGHT ! I was there in 2 min. I drove it around for an hour. I was going by people and they were staring at me. I stopped at a light one guy was pumping gas into his Corvette and was like staring at me , I think he filled up his shoes. The first one was a silver one.

At that time it was around $21,500, I had just bought my 1991 Sport Sedan Turbo for $16,000 I Didn't have another $500.00 a month . I waited 2 years and bought the White Pearl I still have from a woman that drove it only in the winter a total of 4,000 miles so she didn't have to drive the Bently. I paid $14,000. you might say I bought her winter crasher <LOL> The big thing was people were buying Subi's for $10,000 $12,000 back then and didn't believe that a Subi was worth any more than that . I only saw one comercial on TV all the years I have owned one.

Interesting. Apparently this salesman was a little slow. Subaru started building the SVX in early 91, and dealers knew this.

Aren't they all? Most salesmen are there to sell cars and make a lot of money, only a few actually like the cars that they sell, those will know

And your point is? A 1994 Caddy is worth $1,800.00 A 1998 Ford Taurus is worth $5,000. you paid $2,500 but what is it worth?
