out of the frying pan

number 2 son wrecked his car (93 maxima with about 190,000, not sure how many miles as the odometer broke). i am real upset, but figure he needs a car. so in a moment of weakness i bid $1,750 on a 92 with 136,000 miles and one mismatched wheel (either 3 right sides or 3 lefts, i forget right now) on e-bay. i wake up and go to see who out bid me and by how much. turns out the claret is now mine. frankly, i don't think he'll like the car, if for no other reason than i got it without any input from him. oh well, worst comes to worst i got a parts car, especially as i have to pick up my 92 from the glass shop next week where it will have a replacement windshield installed for $1,000 for the glass itself. luckily i have glass insurance. well, at least today i have auto insurance. after the kid's accident and the $1000 windshield i wonder how allstate is gonna treat me.

I'm 20, does that still classify me as a kid. I'll take one whenever. I don't really car if it runs. If I do get one that runs, that would be swank.

Same here. If my dad handed me an SVX when I was a teen, it would've been the 'bestus' present ever!!!

P.S. I think we're all Toys 'R Us kids inside. Most peope just don't want to admit it...

i dont know what i did but i fooled my dad into buying my a svx for graduation the only stipulation was that i had to give my 95 legacy (glitter red the cool color with a wrx engine in it) to my sister (lives in frostburg needed the awd lots of snow hence the name FROSTburg) i think it was an even trade. dad doesnt however because he get the parts bills when ever i brake something. the last was for a 350$ altinator and the last two were for busted rims 500$ a peace a shame he fixed the wheels without telling me first i would have gotten a set of 17 for less. New old stock is expencive. someday when i'm out of college with a nice job ill pay my self but working as a PI and being a student doesnt leave much change for a svx.
