I was reading the reply from Mr pockets on page 1 and thought that what he says is absolutely true and then as he got further along, I began to disagree....
And I do!!! These are great cars and like all older more complicated cars (check out my list) they do require maintenance. In all likelihood, someone ELSE had these cars from birth to 100K miles and then we pick up the ball. There will be a bunch of things to fix and that will never end but I believe that it does decrease.... The option is to go out and finance a 25K$$ car and make 3-4 years of payments resulting in reliable $33K car and you will have spent a ton more money. The problem is, and you hit it is that there always seems to be something niggly to fix... I guess its the Fram question: pay now or pay later... I have enough cars that there is usually a good working one when the other is getting fixed... Hang in there baby!!! Hotshoe |
