winter reminder

when you check your tire pressure, remember to check the spare tire. Nothing is worse that having a flat tire in the cold and then finding out the spare tire is so deflated it's useless.

This is not so much for you city folks, as it is for us country folk, but I always carry a warm blanket, some hand warmers, extra gloves, stocking hat, extra cell phone batt (charged), some emergency munchies (power bars and such), and some water in a heavy duty thermos (has'nt froze yet). I want to be prepared for anything, I know how bad it sucks when your not, especially out in the middle of nowhere..

I remember having to carry all this stuff plus tune up parts in the summer back when I owned a Fiat 128. Every road trip was an adventure.

It would not be easy by any means, and the only reason why it is in there is because I did not get the chance to do it this summer. If I was out in the middle of nowhere, which I go there alot, and the belt happend to break, and I was out of phone contact, you bet I'd change it out, but as I know most of you are thinking, change it now and don't worry, well I don;t have the time right now with all the skiing, and it adds some excitement to extended trips. Anyway it has about 40,000 before it hits 100 grand and has to be done(on the belt), so I'm not really all that concerned... I just like to be prepared, now if I could only find enough room for a spare tranny and a hydraulic lift I'd be set.

so you got a new paint job? i though you might have - it looked really nice in the pics you posted, but sometimes cameras can hide the chips where, how much? original color? it looked like black with a hint of green in the photos.
