Center Cat
New to me car, in Ontario , i need to pass emission test, the center cat is done for.
I checked the OEM is $500 but is a nice low profile shape , about 3" high 18 " long, does anybody know of a good aftermarket / universal cat thats 3"high? What do you guy use? Cheers C |

I had pipes made up for some magnaflow pre-cats. I got the pre-cats from these guys as their prices are the lowest I've found:

I used a Magnaflow 2-1 cat, P/N 94007. It isn't by any means a direct bolt in replacement, and will require some work to get in properly. You can look through my locker for pics of how I installed mine. It isn't the ideal setup, but it got me through the e-test with flying colours. The guy didn't believe the car was a 92.
Edit: I see you're in Ottawa. Did you buy the 5-speed that was for sale in Kanata? I live in Barrhaven.

Thanks Chris, i did not get the car from Kanata , it was in Ottawa south. Its conversion is a bit rough , but i will get it right over the summer. So i had a look at your locker and spotted your snow X pics, from 08 , i also competed in an old Legacyin 08 and 09, how was the SVX?

Ah, gotcha. For the price they wanted for that car I didn't think it was the best bet.
The SVX was great at Snow-X. Blizzaks and AWD are an unbeatable combo. The biggest problem was the auto tranny. I find it a little unpredictable when you're trying to push it on snow. It works great for getting the car moving, but in the corners you're never quite sure if/when the back end is going to break loose. If all goes according to plan I will no longer have that problem by the end of the summer. Have you joined the Ottawa Subaru Club? Membership is $25/year and gets you at least 10% off parts at most of the dealers, and a few other vendors, plus the club has an extensive tool crib that is open to all members.
